“I am running for council so I can have an active role in shaping the future of the city for my children and grandchildren,” Scott said, who is running in Ward 4 North Kent. “Now that my children are older, I have the opportunity and free time to give back to the community that I love.
“There has been a lot of negativity in politics lately, especially municipal politics,” he added. “ I hope to change that negativity through the use of honest and open dialogue.”
With the first change in provincial government in more than 14 years, Scott believes “we have a unique opportunity to not only lobby the provincial government for increased funding for infrastructure, but also have them complete a proper study into the effects the wind turbines are having on our community water wells.”
Scott said his job as director of technology requires being an excellent problem solver.
“By focusing my abilities to issues facing Chatham-Kent, I hope to find solutions that benefit everyone,” he said.
