Kristen Bell narrates cuddly IMAX documentary

LOS ANGELES — Anyone who has seen Kristen Bell break down in (happy) hysterics over a sloth knows the actress’ affinity for animals, especially those of the cute and cuddly variety. So when the people behind the new IMAX original film “Pandas” asked “The Good Place” star if she would consider narrating the documentary, it was a no-brainer.

Firefighter dies on set of Edward Norton film

NEW YORK — A New York City firefighter died early Friday after he became separated from his unit as they battled a fierce, smoky blaze that broke out in the cellar of a former Harlem jazz club being used as a film set.

TORONTO — “Maudie,” starring recent Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins as real-life Nova Scotia folk artist Maud Lewis and Ethan Hawke as her fish-peddler husband, took a leading seven film trophies on Sunday as light-hearted Canuck jokes mixed with politically charged speeches at the Canadian Screen Awards.
